Decommissioning Phone Systems & WEEE Directive

If there is a requirement for a new system, MF Communications will decommission your existing system and provide you with a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electric Equipment) Certificate, according to European Law and the WEEE Directive which was introduced in 2005.

The WEEE Directive sets out 10 categories for processing and recycling waste including IT and telecommunications equipment. MF Communications will undertake and manage this complete process on your behalf.

MF Communications regularly decommission complete phone systems. A recent project was to remove 250 Alcatel telephones along with an Alcatel 4400 phone system from a French car manufacturer based in London. Depending on the quality of decommissioned equipment, we will refurbish or remanufacture to sell as second user equipment. Phones and phone systems below our high quality standards are broken down for spare parts or recycled following the aforementioned WEEE Directive.
