The Brief

Abbeyfields care home had a Norstar Meridian System that was antiquated and they wanted to upgrade their system. Their main concerns were they had no way of routing calls; people had to be called away from what they were doing to answer a call. They also wanted calls to ring in specific locations to avoid calls being missed. Lastly there were too many calls going direct to the main reception when they needed to be directed to specific extensions within the building.

Our Solution

Our sales staff and engineers worked together to implement the following:

Installation of a Siemens Hipath 3550 Telephone System compatible with the needs on site.

We upgraded their analogue lines to Digital ISDN and added a number range which is used for routing calls to specific extensions. We created an Auto Attendant where the inbound caller could choose where their call was directed, e.g. Press 1 for Accounts, Press 2 for Duty Nurse. The new system enabled Abbeyfield not to lose any calls and allowed them to streamline their inbound calls so the caller got through to the correct staff member quicker.
