VTech Hotel Phones

VTech Hotel Phone Prices Increasing from September 2026 – What Hotels Need to Know

VTech has announced an upcoming price increase across its hotel telephone range, which will take effect from 1 September 2026.

The increase is expected to be approximately 7.5% on current purchasing prices and is being introduced in response to significant increases in the cost of the materials and electronic components used during manufacturing.

For hotels, hospitality groups, installers and resellers planning projects later this year, there is still an opportunity to place orders at current pricing.

Orders received by MF Communications before 28 August 2026, accompanied by a valid purchase order, will be honoured at existing prices. This deadline gives our team sufficient time to process and place orders with VTech before the manufacturer’s new pricing takes effect.

Why Are VTech Hotel Phone Prices Increasing?

The forthcoming increase is not simply a routine pricing adjustment. VTech has advised that it reflects substantial changes in the cost and availability of several materials used throughout the electronics manufacturing industry.

Modern hotel telephones may appear straightforward from the outside, but they contain a range of electronic components, circuit boards, metals and moulded plastics. Increases across these different material groups can have a considerable effect on the overall cost of manufacturing each handset.

These pressures are affecting electronics manufacturers worldwide and are not limited to VTech or the hospitality telephone market.

Rising Memory Component Costs

Memory components such as NAND flash and eMMC storage are used in many modern electronic products to store software, system settings and other operating data.

According to information supplied by VTech, prices for some of these components have risen by approximately 250% to 500%.

This sharp increase has been linked to rapidly growing demand from artificial intelligence infrastructure and expanding data centres. Production reductions by some major suppliers have also contributed to global shortages and increased competition for available components.

Although hotel phones do not require the same levels of memory as servers or high-performance computing equipment, their manufacturers purchase components from the same wider electronics supply chain. When global availability becomes restricted, the effects are felt across many different product categories.

Higher Printed Circuit Board Costs

Printed circuit boards, commonly known as PCBs, form the internal platform on which a telephone’s electronic components are mounted and connected.

VTech has reported that overall PCB costs have increased by around 50%.

Producing circuit boards requires several materials, including copper, gold, resin and fibreglass. The cost of these materials has increased at the same time as demand for PCBs from sectors including artificial intelligence hardware, automotive electronics and 5G communications equipment.

As more industries compete for manufacturing capacity and raw materials, the cost of producing circuit boards for everyday commercial products also rises.

Increasing Copper, Tin and Silver Prices

Metals including copper, tin and silver are widely used throughout electronic equipment.

Copper is essential for electrical tracks, cabling and connections. Tin is commonly used in soldering, while silver may be used in specialist contacts and conductive components.

VTech has advised that the prices of these metals have increased by approximately 25% to 60%.

These increases have been influenced by geopolitical uncertainty, restricted supply and growing demand from expanding industries such as electric vehicle manufacturing, renewable energy, solar power and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Because these metals are fundamental to electronics production, higher prices have a direct impact on the cost of manufacturing telephones and other communications equipment.

Higher Plastic and Petrochemical Costs

Hotel telephone casings, handsets and several internal parts are manufactured using durable plastics such as ABS and polypropylene.

According to VTech, prices for some plastic materials have risen by more than 40%.

Plastic production is closely connected to the petrochemical and crude oil industries. Disruption to petrochemical supply chains, higher energy costs and instability in the Middle East have contributed to increases in the price of plastic feedstocks.

For manufacturers producing substantial quantities of handsets, even a moderate rise in the cost of each moulded component can have a noticeable effect on the final unit price.

What Does the Increase Mean for Hotels?

The impact will vary depending on the size and timing of each project.

A hotel replacing only a small number of damaged or missing telephones may see a limited difference. However, the effect could be more significant for larger installations involving dozens or hundreds of guest rooms.

The increase may affect:

  • Planned hotel refurbishments
  • New hotel developments
  • Guest-room telephone replacement programmes
  • Spare handset purchasing
  • Annual maintenance budgets
  • Telecom installer quotations
  • Distributor and reseller pricing
  • Procurement schedules for future projects

Hotel groups with several properties may also wish to review whether any planned purchases can be combined or brought forward.

An increase of approximately 7.5% can become significant when applied across a large number of rooms. Planning ahead may therefore help purchasing teams protect existing budgets and reduce the overall cost of forthcoming projects.

How Can Hotels Reduce the Impact?

The most direct way to avoid the forthcoming increase is to place a confirmed order before the new pricing takes effect.

A valid purchase order must be received by 28 August 2026 for current pricing to be honoured.

Hotels and project teams should consider:

Reviewing Upcoming Projects

Check whether any refurbishment, new-build or replacement projects are planned for the remainder of 2026 or early 2027.

Even where installation is not immediate, forward ordering may allow equipment to be secured at the current price.

Ordering Spare Handsets

Hotels already using VTech telephones may benefit from holding a small quantity of spare units.

This can help maintenance teams replace damaged or faulty handsets quickly without needing to make urgent purchases after the price increase.

Confirming Product Requirements Early

Discussing requirements early gives our team time to confirm model compatibility, availability, lead times and pricing.

This is particularly important for larger quantities or projects requiring specific handset colours, faceplates, branding options or configurations.

Reserving Available Stock

Where suitable equipment is available from stock, MF Communications may be able to reserve units against a confirmed order.

Stock availability cannot be guaranteed indefinitely, so early enquiries are recommended.
